  • The 3rd Annual National Alliance for Drug Endangered Children conference will be held November 27- 29, 2006 in Nashville Tennessee. For more information and to register visit http://www.nationaldec.org/Conference/conference.htm.Two NIOSH designed field methods for detecting methamphetamine now commercially available. Take a look a the In the News page.
  • We've updated the DEC Champions Page and added highlights from the Adams City Interact Club and Adams County Clerks fundraiser's.
  • Take a look at the In The News page. It's been updated to include the latest Newspaper articles and Television segments.
  • Several dates have been added to the training schedule. Take a look at the Training page.
  • The Links page has been updated to include the DEA's "Just Think Twice" website.
  • Take a look at the DEC Papers page. We've added the papers presented at the 2nd Annual National DEC Conference held October 3-5, 2005 in Washington D.C.
  • Several training sessions have been added for the remainder of this year through April of next year. Keep checking back for additions and changes. Take a look at the Training page. Most of the sessions require online registration. The links for registration and additional information are with each event.

  • We've added a new 3 hour training session on September 21, 2005. Take a look at the Training page.
  • The Iowa DEC program has fashioned a Decon trailer just like Colorado's. What a compliment to the Colorado DEC program. Take a look at the Press Release section on the In The News page.
  • On June 24, 2005 there was a Methamphetamine Symposium in Montrose Colorado. Over 225 professionals from numerous disciplines attended - social services, nurses, school officials, counselors, law enforcement, fire departments, a judge, treatment providers, and foster parents. There were also a number of citizens in attendance who were wanting to know about this epidemic. Take a look at the article in the Montrose Daily Press article.

  • Contact information for Garfield County Social Services has been updated.
  • Juniors at Broomfield High School have been very busy filling backpacks and making quilts for Colorado's DEC children. Take a look at the DEC Champions page and view their photo album. These students are outstanding DEC Champions!

  • We've added a link to the new National Alliance for Drug Endangered Children website. You can either click on the National Alliance button to the left or click this link http://www.nationaldec.org.

  • October 9, 2004 - Lt. Lori Moriarty receives the CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) 2004 Friend of Children Award at the annual Red Wagon Ball. Take a look at the News page.
  • The Contact Us page has been updated.
  • Take a look at the In The News page, we've updated the Television and Newspaper sections.
  • We have a new look! The logo was created by the Sterling-Rice Group in Boulder Colorado. Each time you see this logo you'll know there is an strong alliance both locally and nationally committed to helping children in drug endangered environments.
  • The National DEC Medical Protocol for Children Found in Methamphetamine Labs has been published. Take a look at the DEC Papers section.
  • The new Medical and Research link has been added. This section is intended to be a central repository of information for medical professionals and researchers. Keep an eye on this section, it will grow with information from DEC partners from all over the country.
  • The Best Practices section of the web site has been updated. This section requires a password. If you would like access please send an e-mail to nometrotask@msn.com requesting the password. The documents on this page are in both Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat. Once you have access to the page you may read or download the documents.
  • We've just published a series of "Initial Response Forms" developed by the Drug Endangered Children committees. The forms have been published in Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat PDF. Take a look at the DEC Papers section.
  • The "National Jewish Research Center Methamphetamine Research - Full Report" has been published on the DEC Papers page. This study is the first of its kind in the United States.
  • Larimer County has developed an agreement between the Department of Human Services and the Drug Task Force and a Protocol for Investigating Child Protection Referrals. This is a terrific example of how agencies are working together to protect Colorado's children from drug endangered environments. To read the Memorandum and the Protocol take a look at the DEC Papers section.
  • We've added a Donations page to the site. This page includes sections for Financial Support, Items to Donate, and Special Needs. Soon we will be adding an option to donate online.
  • The Links page has been updated to include an Educational Tools section.
  • Take a look at the DEC Champions page, we've added some great photo albums.
  • The Board of Directors information on the Contact Us page has been updated.
