Many parents are on a tight budget due to the rough economy. There is some good news. There are several entertainment activities that you can do as family even if you’re on a tight budget. Spend a day at the Park Most families don’t always have time to spend the day together. The park is the perfect place to get together, make a picnic and just spend some nice, quality time with each other. Bring a soccer ball and have a friendly game of soccer. Bring the Indoor Activities Outside If you’re budget is fairly strict try bringing the activities you do inside and take them outdoors. Does your family enjoy crafts or drawing? Why not do those things outside? Sit out on a picnic table and start drawing, coloring or crafting. If your family enjoys books, grab a blanket, some snack and drinks and read outside. Listen to Music The summer is when many towns have small musical festivals or events. Majority of these events are free, but others will cost a small fee that’s pretty inexpensive. You and your family can enjoy a nice night out at a musical festival and be entertained and learn a thing or two about music. If there aren’t any festivals, have a barbecue and pull out the CD player and listen to music at home. Go to a Local Museum Some towns will have a small art or history museum that you can bring your family to. Most of these will have a fee that will be $10 or less. Getting an education is important and your children can learn a lot about history at the museum. |
